Weighted Average Calculator
Calculate weighted averages, supports GPA calculation.
Value | Weight | Actions |
---|---|---|
Tip: Ensure weights are proportional. For example, if calculating a course grade, weights should add up to 100.
How to Use
This calculator computes the weighted average of a dataset. It also supports GPA calculation.
- Enter Values and Weights: Add rows for each data point, entering the value and its corresponding weight.
- GPA Mode (Optional): Check the "GPA Mode" box to calculate GPA.
- Calculate: Click the "Calculate" button to compute the weighted average.

GPA Formula = (โ (Grade Point ร Credits)) / (โ Credits)
Example Usage: GPA Calculation
Let's calculate a GPA for a semester with the following 4 classes:
Class | Credits | Grade | Grade Point |
---|---|---|---|
Calculus | 4 | A (4.0) | 4.0 |
Chemistry | 3 | B+ (3.3) | 3.3 |
English | 3 | A- (3.7) | 3.7 |
Psychology | 3 | B (3.0) | 3.0 |
To calculate the GPA using this calculator, follow these steps:
- Check the "GPA Mode" checkbox.
- Add 4 rows to the table.
- Enter the grade point values (4.0, 3.3, 3.7, 3.0) in the "Value" column.
- Enter the corresponding credit values (4, 3, 3, 3) in the "Weight" column.
- Click the "Calculate" button.
The calculator will compute the GPA as follows:
- (4.0 ร 4) + (3.3 ร 3) + (3.7 ร 3) + (3.0 ร 3) = 16.0 + 9.9 + 11.1 + 9.0 = 46
- Total credits: 4 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 13
- GPA = 46 / 13 = 3.54
The calculator will display a GPA of 3.54.
